Dörte Blase is for many years a teacher in singing at the Hannover university of music, drama and media and at the university of Hildesheim. In her work she focuses the wide spectrum of music and its styles: She teaches the technical basics of singing and the important classical literature – but also the methods of jazz, rock and pop music. For her it is very important that her students present their individual progress regularly on stage to increase their abilities.
Many students of their singing class are successful singers and asked soloists after their exams – some of them are singing in nationwide well-known choir ensembles, like the „Bundesjugendchor“.
Since 2002 Dörte Blase is married to the music and culture journalist and editor Dr. Volker Schulz, who also works as a jazz musician.
